Our house went from being a tiny 60 year old cottage to being a medium sized cottage which was just so much more liveable.  What we imagined and explained in our discussions with Ashley was very well translated into the design we were presented with. With some very minor adjustments we were very happy to proceed.

Our life is quite different now and having such a large space in which to entertain and have friends and family visiting is a real pleasure.

With only one exception we were absolutely satisfied with the tradesmen who worked on our home. There were some real characters and some gems.

Our home is now spacious, bright, comfortable and so much more liveable.

We lived on site throughout the whole building project and managed without too much stress or disruption. Your tradesmen were very good at helping us to adapt. We even go quite used to 'walking the plank' out our back door across a muddy moat and onto level grassy ground.

Sharing a cuppa with our workers and having a chat to them was an enjoyable experience as we watched each one do their part in putting the amazing jigsaw puzzle together translating a drawing into a reality. When we had problems and needed to speak with a senior person the response was always helpful and professional and problems were sorted out quickly.

We would have no hesitation in recommending the Extension Factory to anyone who was interested in upgrading their home.

Double Storey Home Extension

Annette was our designer and she looked at our old house and could see our dream.  It is beautiful and we thank her for her hard work, her creativeness her forethought and genius in creating our beautiful home.

Bill was our building supervisor and he was great.  He looked after us extremely well.  We lived in the house while the extension went on and he made it possible. He was encouraging and helped us endlessly.

Our home looks magnificent.  We have opened a Bed & Breakfast and our guest so far have loved our home, its design and layout.

We finished 4 months ahead of schedule.

Our builders were lovely. The workmanship was good.  The builders were hard working polite and the finishes on the rooms, the roof outline and the deck were built beautifully. The builder was very good at his job and his work ethic is fantastic and to be commended.

We would recommend Extension Factory, the builders and tradesmen’s work ethic was brilliant.

Bill our project manager was fantastic, a great communicator, easy going and he knew much of the building process that he readily explained to us. Any issues with workmanship were generally followed up with a reasonable time frame.
Completion time of our extension was very good considering it was between Christmas and New Year.

To the Extension Factory

I am writing to you regarding our extension and to thank you for the professionalism that your team showed - from our very first consultation to completion of the project just before Christmas. Many people had told us that doing an extension would be a ‘nightmare' and we had heard many horror stories. We are delighted to report that our experience was anything but a nightmare and we certainly have no horror stories.

Any family undertaking an extension is embarking on a disruptive period in their life and living. However, your team minimised this through careful stage planning so that our disruptive period was a mere three weeks. Further, with three young children we found the care and cooperation of people working on our home exemplary. Without exception every tradesman that came into our home showed patience and professionalism with both us as the client and with our children. In fact, so much so our children had nicknames for both Peter our carpenter (Peter Pan) and Darrell our plumber (Tinkerbell)!

We would especially like to thank Paul, our building supervisor, who showed tireless patience- answering our endless questions and offering advice - commitment and total professionalism in ensuring his job was completed ahead of schedule and with great result.

We are enjoying living in our new beautiful home and would be unreserved in our enthusiasm for recommending the Extension Factory to any prospective client.

Paul is one of those rare individuals who is a "hands-on" supervisor and this is evident by the respect he commands from his team of tradespeople. We have found him to be highly professional and approachable with close attention to detail. He is a tremendous asset to your organisation and should be commended to the contribution he makes to your firm. It has been a real pleasure for us to make his acquaintance during this project.

We would also like to commend the work done by all the tradespeople who worked at NO 57. They have been courteous, have had a high work ethic and worked tirelessly to get the project completed. The tradespeople concerned are: Darren the carpenter, Daryl the plumber, Graeme the electrician, the plasterers Michael, John and Rob.

We would also like to take this opportunity to commend the efforts of Mr John Eades, the salesman who we were first in touch with when we considered starting this project.

John was our first contact with your firm and we were impressed by his friendly manner, sense of humour and how well he was able to work through the design of the extension and his many suggestions which we subsequently incorporated. Dear Sir,

It is now nearly six months since our extension was completed. Time has flown and Sandra and I have just now got around to writing to you.

I suppose it is like most things, that if something is wrong, you certainly hear about it, but appreciation and praise for a job well done is usually less forthcoming.

The fact is, Sandra and I have been most pleased with our extension and we are enjoying the improvements it has brought to our home.

Of course, like most building projects, there were a few glitches along the way. Most related to our new kitchen, which was installed by another company, but those that were under the Extension Factory's control were minor, and were always addressed promptly. Just a call to Site Supervisor, John was enough to have things attended to.

Since completion of the extension, there have also been no major maintenance issues; just a few minor issues such as the downstairs sliding door being "tricky" to lock at times, and the downstairs cupboard door sticking and with a loose door knob.

These issues do not qualify for inclusion in the Maintenance Record Book. As mentioned, there has been no issue to include in the book. Similarly, we did not think there was anything to include in the Opportunity for Improvement Questionnaire and we considered all the headings included in the Good Points section were worthy of favourable comment.

Therefore, instead of completing the questionnaire, we thought a letter of appreciation would be preferable.

Finally we would like you to pass on our personal thanks and appreciation to both John Eades, who was our first contact and who designed a wonderful extension and John, our site supervisor, who not only saw that things ran smoothly and who promptly addressed any issues that cropped up, but who was prepared to offer helpful advice when we were ever unsure about a building decision to be made.

Should we ever decide to pursue any further alterations or extensions we will not hesitate to give the Extension Factory a call.
